“Team GB” is just a bullshit marketing campaign to try and get the country interested in the Olympics.
It sounds so completely farcical, but because it’s catchy everybody is eating it up. You don’t hear the USA being referred to as “Team America” do you? Even though they should be, because that would be awesome.
